Beaverbrook was laid out as a planned community starting in the 1960s. Glen Cairn and Katimavik-Hazeldean followed through the 1970s and 1980s. Bridlewood, Kanata Lakes and Morgan’s Grant are mostly 1990s and 2000s. Four decades of building codes and heating practice sitting inside one suburb, which is why a Kanata quote should never be a copy-paste job.
One practical example: not every older Kanata home was built with full ductwork. That single fact changes the whole conversation about whether a ductless system makes more sense than a forced-air retrofit, and it is the sort of thing worth settling before anyone quotes you a number. Do you actually come out to Kanata, or only central Ottawa?
We come to Kanata. It’s a normal part of our service area and always has been. Same pricing, same technicians, no west-end surcharge.
My Kanata house has no ductwork. What are my options?
Ductless mini-splits are the usual answer, and they handle both heating and cooling. Depending on the layout, a partial duct system is sometimes possible too. We would need to see the house before telling you which makes more sense, and we will be straight with you if one option is clearly better value.
When should I replace the AC in a Bridlewood or Kanata Lakes home?
Central air units generally run twelve to eighteen years. If yours is in that range, still uses R-22 refrigerant, or is costing you a repair every summer, replacing it is usually the cheaper path. If it is eight years old with one bad capacitor, it isn’t. We will tell you which situation you’re in.
