Just Air in Nepean
Nepean Is Bungalow Country, and That Changes the Job
A large share of Nepean went up between the 1950s and the 1970s. City View, Craig Henry, Qualicum, Trend-Arlington, Manordale and much of Bells Corners are full of bungalows and side-splits from that era. Those houses are well built, but their mechanical rooms are small and their ductwork was designed around mid-efficiency furnaces that vented up a masonry chimney.
When you move one of those homes to a modern condensing furnace, the venting changes. The new unit vents through the side wall in plastic pipe, and the old chimney is suddenly oversized for whatever is still using it, usually the water heater. It’s a solvable problem and a routine one. It is also the kind of detail that should be in the quote, not discovered on install day. We put it in the quote.

Frequently Asked Questions
Beyond the unit itself, expect new venting through an exterior wall, a condensate drain, and a look at whether the chimney still suits the water heater. Sometimes the return air needs work as well. None of it is exotic. It just needs to be priced honestly up front instead of appearing as a change order.
Yes. If the house already has forced-air ductwork, adding central air is straightforward. If it doesn’t, ductless is the usual route. Either way we look at the house first rather than quoting blind.
Once a year, before the heating season starts. Efficiency is part of the reason. The bigger one is that an annual inspection is when a cracked heat exchanger or a failing inducer gets caught while it is still a repair rather than an emergency.
Ontario rebate programs change, and the amounts depend on what you install and what you are replacing. We keep our rebates page current, and we will tell you what applies to your specific job when we quote it. We don’t inflate rebate numbers to make a quote look better.
