Replacing a tank water heater starts with sizing: the right tank depends on how many people live in the house and how many fixtures run hot water at the same time, not just matching the gallon size that was already there. We check whether the unit should be power-vented or atmospheric-vented based on where it sits and how the existing flue is set up, confirm the gas line and shutoff are in good shape, and check for an expansion tank on the cold water line, which many older installs are missing.
